Overview

Grovemont was founded durring the late 13th century in fall of the year 1186, by Funacanus vyim Glə˞nyi. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Funacanus vyim Glə˞nyi.

Grovemont was built using the conventions of Gnollish durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Grovemont is no diffrent. The metropolis's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Grovemont is buildings are arranged arround a single restrictive split-log ties mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the metropolis a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The mountain metropolis is defended by arcane means. It's hard to spot at first, but there's a tell tell shimmer in the air arround Grovemont, and you can spot the ocasional warding glyph carved into a rock or tree all arround town. These mystical defences are ancient, unknowable, and unassailable by current means... Assuming everything is in working order. Otherwise, the wards are little more than a deathtrap. The metropolis's Relic of the World That Was have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the metropolis.

A look around Grovemont makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power.
